Jiva Institute maintains a well organized and comprehensive library containing more then 10,000 printed and handwritten books. They cover a wide range of topics such as Ayurveda, Jyotish, Music, Tantra, Sankhya, Yoga, Nyaya, Vaisheshika, Purva-mimamsa, Advaita-vedanta, Vaishnavisn, Puranas, Itihasa, Samhitas etc. For easy reference and access of printed books maintained by Jiva Library, a computerized library catalogue is available to facilitate research of scholars.
Jiva library also contains over 5000 old and rare Sanskrit, Bengali and Brajabhasha manuscripts written on handmade paper, mango leaves and tree bark. Many of these works are in a fragile condition, so we are preserving and scanning them. Our manuscripts include works on Sanskrit Grammar, Sanskrit plays, Tantra, Puranas, Itihasa, Jyotish (Astrology), Ayurveda, Stotras etc.
Jiva Institute also carries on a preservation and translation program so that future generations may also benefit from the wisdom assimilated in these texts. We are always on the lookout for suitable pieces of literature to augment our existing collection.
